Removing the snowblower from the Kubota BX

Winter seems to be over now so I finally got to remove the snowblower from my Kubota BX25 tractor. I'm experimenting a bit this year as I decided to leave all of the 3-point hitch components attached to the snowblower until next year.  Not sure if this will ease getting the snowblower hooked up next year or not but that was the idea behind this approach.  The snowblower is a Kubota model B2789 and I've posted a number of videos on it in action.  You can check older posts or go directly to my youtube channel to see more: http://www.youtube.com/user/nlinventor?feature=mhee   I still need to do some basic snowblower maintenance in terms of torquing, greasing, and oiling, but right now I will get the backhoe on and start on more summer-type activities.

Replacing shear pin in tractor snowblower

Just finished posting this video on YouTube.  I pushed the snowblower and bit too hard after the last storm and the upper shear pin (the one near the pto) did what it was designed to do.  You have to work in pretty tight quarters to install a new shear pin (bolt) and it can be frustrating, especially if you have to work in below zero weather.  Fortunately I had the tractor in the garage when I shot this video. As you can see the Kubota snowblower is a rear mounted 3 point type mounted on my Kubota BX25 tractor.  I'm thinking now that I will probably remove the snowblower over next week or so and get the back hoe installed.  Will keep you posted.

Iceberg time here in Newfoundland

We had a snow storm about a week ago when I was away.  Got that cleared up with the Kubota BX25 but didn't get a video of the work.  Took this video of some small icebergs that are located about 10 mins drive from my house. Will keep monitoring the bergs over next while and hopefully I will get some video on some more interesting ones.  These bergs look small but they actually weight many thousands of tons.  The anniversary of the Titanic sinking is coming up and it is not far from here where the accident happened. Hope you like the video!
