Blowing and scraping hard-packed snow

I made this video the day after the storm.  We had about 15 cm (6 inches) of snow and most of it was cleared up the day before this video was taken.  But overnight wind caused some drifting and the cold temps kept the snow pretty hard on the driveway.

  1. Is that a BX 24, 25? What model blower? Kind of surprised the blower doesn't have a top hood - that is, a cover in front of the chute and over the blower "tines." Nice work and good video. Just got a BX2360 and it's always nice to what others and their techniques.

  2. It's a Kubota BX25 and it is a Kubota snow blower model B2789 (made in Quebec). So far I'm pleased with its performance. Learned that the rpm must be kept up pretty high to prevent snow jamming the chute. Just put another video up on Youtube showing a BXpanded snow plow separating from the BX bucket. Will likely put the video here soon. Still evaluating the plow and hope to give a more complete idea about how it works in upcoming videos.
